Arcachon, on the Bay · 24/7

Flat tyre in Arcachon, right in the middle of the crowds?

Our van comes to wherever the car is standing. You won't need to hunt for a garage through the steep lanes of the Ville d'Hiver or a packed car park near the marina. A damaged tyre is always replaced as a pair, never on its own, so the car handles evenly on both sides. Once it's done, you drive off yourself — we don't tow.

A seaside town that gets tight in high season

The Ville d'Hiver, the hillside quarter of nineteenth-century villas above the centre, is laced with steep, winding streets where kerbside parking is often the only option — enough to catch a sidewall on a bad angle. Around the marina and the seafront boardwalk by the casino, July and August traffic packs the car parks so tightly that cars end up half on the pavement or wedged between bollards. A sharp kerb, a pothole hidden on a sandy track down to the beach, or a slow leak you only notice getting in the car: it catches out a lot of visitors here.

Off the train or the ferry to Cap Ferret? We still come

Plenty of visitors leave their car parked for days at Arcachon station, the end of the line from Bordeaux, or in the car park by the Jetée d'Eyrac, where the ferry to Cap Ferret departs. A car left standing that long often loses battery charge, or slowly loses pressure from a small puncture nobody noticed before parking. Call us with the registration and the name of the car park, and we'll come out without you having to go back and check on it yourself first.

What's covered, and what it costs

Sealing a repairable puncture starts at €79, or €49 if a plug does the job, and we'll check pressure on all four before you drive off. Where a sidewall's torn, that means a new pair on the same axle — we never fit a single tyre — with mounting from €35 a wheel; the tyres themselves are priced separately and only ever sold in twos. Just need the spare bolted on? That starts at €39. A flat 12V battery, often the result of a motorhome or caravan sitting idle for weeks, gets swapped from €149. Turn up after dark, on a Sunday or on a public holiday, and a surcharge applies — you'll hear the figure on the phone before the van sets off, never after.

Calling from abroad

Ringing from outside France just means dropping the first 0: +33 5 25 53 07 13. What actually speeds things up isn't fluent French — it's knowing exactly where the car is and what's wrong with it. Make, model and the tyre size on the sidewall are useful extras, not requirements. Someone answers every day of the year, straight through the busiest August nights.

Broken down on the RN250 or the motorway to Bordeaux? Call 112 first

There's one place we can't reach you: the motorway itself, a slip road, a service area or the hard shoulder. French law reserves that stretch for certified motorway recovery firms only, so ring 112 or pick up one of the orange roadside phones instead — it's a safety rule, not a choice. The moment the car is clear of the carriageway, whether that's a fuel station, an ordinary car park or a side road somewhere around the Bay, our van picks up the job.
